MORE INFO: NECK RE-SETS

-Neck re-sets are very common for steel string acoustics and even  hollowbodies.

 

- I will require a humidity hold of 1 week to verify stable humidity before any work of this nature is done on acoustics.

-A fret level, crown and polish is common with neck re-set services.

-A new saddle is also common with a neck angle adjustment.

- I typically use the probe method to remove necks. I love this method because it is steam free. Eliminating the mess, wood swelling and possible damage to finish. Also there is no need to let the joint dry out before re-assembling!

-Some neck joints are epoxied in. These are typically import models and people tend to find them not worth the cost of re-setting the neck. Epoxy in this joint can pose various problems with removal and may require additional work. But it can be done! Sometimes they can be heated off without a problem other times they are very stubborn and may benefit from a bolt on conversion.
